It Takes a Village was started in 2015 by its Founder, Arita Jacobs-Kalyan. Previous to this Arita, her family and friends started getting together yearly in her apartment to make bags for the homeless. Since then it has grown into something much bigger and with a lot more participants. After falling on hard times Arita decided to use her experience to help to reach out to other individuals and families to make a positive impact in her community. Arita knows the immense pressure someone may feel when struggling to make ends meet. That is why she has made it her mission to help serve as many individuals and families as possible.
